We got a puppy a few weeks ago. Someone on our homeschool email list was trying to find her a home. They had posted her picture once or twice. I thought she was really cute, but we were not in the market for another dog. Then.....they posted that the pup had until that Monday and then they were taking her to the pound. Ugh. I knew that we had to "save" her.

She is half miniature dachshund and half yorkie. She is a Dorkie! :) She is really sweet and smart. We were concerned about how Sheila would react to her, but they have become close friends.
The kids really love her, and she is pretty tolerant with them. The cats let her know that she is *not* the boss, but there have not been any HUGE fights (yet). Considering she is smaller than the kitties, she knows not to push them too far.
Sheila is the best dog ever in the whole world, but LuLu is a close second.
we have a dorkie too and she is awesome! our pup has bad hair though - she is a mess most of the time lol! she is sleeping in the v neck of my t-shirt now cause that is where i stuffed her when she was itty bitty and it is still her favorite place to nap! we also have a 7 year old lab that is the best dog ever. we also worried that chloe wouldn't like sophie - but the opposite has happened! chloe acts more like a puppy than an older dog now and even crawls on my lap all the time now to snuggle. sophie is between 8 and 10 pounds and chloe is probably closer to 80 pounds - but you just take the pain of the big dog and love her anyway! lol
